Ecuador Volcanoes Jan/Feb 2010 | Field Touring Alpine
Field Touring Alpine Ecuador Volcanoes January 2010 - Team Page
We have two trips heading off this January and the first is with Brad Boehringer and Eric Pedersen and the second with Stu Remensnyder and Mike Leyden. The first trip is 13 days and includes Cotopaxi and Chimborazo while the second trip is 16 days and adds on Cayambe and a few extra cultural/spare summit days.
To climb to the highest point above sea level, Mt. Everest, is a great goal but the cost, risk and experience needed makes it for many people inaccessible. On this trip we aim for about the point furthest from the center of the planet - Chimborazo! While Chimborazo is 6,268 meters above the sea it measures more than 2 kilometers from the center of the earth at a distance of 6,384 km.
We still have a room for a few more members so let us know if you would like to join us for the jan 26 trip! If you can't make these trips look on our trip page or upcoming dates! Every year we have a number of trips to Ecuador running from lengths of 9 days to 16 days so pick one that suits your time and energy and join us!
