FTA Khumbu Peaks and Passes 2011

In 2011 Khumbu Peaks & Passes will be led by Ben Kane and will climb Island Peak, Pokalde, Lobuche E. and Gokyp Ri. On the way we'll cross the Kongma La, Cho La and Renjo La passes!

Trekkers are welcome to join our team and they can enjoy nice side trips, walks and rest while the climbers are on the peask. While the team is on Island Peak, trekkers can amble up Chukung Ri for a great view of Lhotse Lobuche the trekkers can head on up to Everest BC!

Ben Kane, Leader (Australia)

Ben led our recent successful expedition to Cho Oyu in April/May of 2011 and will be coming off of an expedition to Satopanth (Sept) and ready to go! Ben has been on Island Peak numberous times and all about the Khumbu during his trips to Ama Dablam. 

Climbs and Expeditions include: Aconcagua (False Polishl Polish and Normal), Ama Dablam, Mercedario, Broad Peak, Cho Oyu and a host of peaks in Nepal & New Zealand.

Siddhi Bahadur Tamang, Sherpa Guide (Nepal)

Siddhi has been a lead sherpa for FTA on Ama Dablam, Island Peak & Cho Oyu and is one of our strongest and most repected sherpas. This will be Siddhi's 6th year with FTA and we could not be more excited to have him along.

Siddhie is also the resident nepali language instructor and takes great pride in helping our members to gain facility in nepali and during snowy days at BC this activity can be a life saver when the cards are worn and the batteries low!

Veronika Bartova - (CZ)

Veronika has climbed and trekked all over the world and has been an expedition medic for FTA numerous times. Her trips with FTA include Snow Lake, Tharpu Chuli, Cho Oyu, Spantik & Satopanth and you can see great pics from her trips at:

Richard Brownlee (AUS)

Richard has joined FTA previously to Tharpu Chuli and is widly held as a wonderful trip companion!

Seng Boey (AUS)

This will be Seng's first trip with FTA but he is a good buddy of FTA Asst Guide Rob Baker so we are excited to have him aboard!
